In today’s world everyone was stuffed with gadgets and gizmos, it may be mobile phones or PMPs. Most people carry more than 1 gadget and hold 2 mobile phones. People get annoyed when the batteries drained out in the middle of a call or movies etc. The portronics MOJO charger, charges these devices very easily with inbuilt flash indications. Design The portronics MOJO charger is made up of a nice rubberized plastic with a powerful LED flash. The length is just about of 5 inch and slightly less than an inch. It is very easy to carry because the wt is nearly 90gms. The battery was present at backside with 2200mAh. It was planned smartly in such a manner that battery doesn’t looks as a separate panel and looks like a part of a body. It has power indicator in front and underneath is a power button to charge the extra devices. The USB slot is present above the battery and mini USB port which charges this portable charger was present at left side. The slot present above the battery connects and charges many devices. This torch has four flashing method – normal, strong, flash and SOS. USB tether spindle is also present which connects additional devices. It can be stretched roughly 2 feet in length and has retractable function. The USB cable comes along with 7 adapters for various mobile phones. The design of these adaptors is very solid and has easy attachment to connector Despite of powerful torch and tether cable, the length of the retractable wire may be a foot longer in length for easy use. Before testing, device should be discharged completely and charged fully. It should be kept to charge for 4 hrs. The LED torch power is really impressive. The lighting of the torch goes as far 25 feet. The charger was tested on 3 instruments, an iPod Nano 5th Generation, an iPhone 4 and a Dell Venue Pro. The battery of the ipod and Dell Venue were drained completely. For iPod it takes an hr and 50 minutes to charge completely. All at once Dell Venue was charged, but it did not seem to power it on at all. Next iPhone 4 was kept for charging at 70%. It should be checked for every 5 minutes or else the charging would be stopped on its own and had to be restarted again. The phone and the charger should be checked constantly and this makes people to get annoyed. After charging for 1 hr there was just 7% increase in battery and make the situation unsatisfactory. After this the Dell Venue Pro was kept and charged perfectly. . Verdict Protonics is a rock of charger. It has 7 different adapters which is very useful for lot of mobile phones and PMP. The price of this charger along with torch was Rs 1,200 which was quite normal. This charger is very useful and compact for the people who carry lot of devices. It work in negative manner for iphone 4 but the working condition for ipod and Dell venue pro was quite impressive. The time taken to charge the zero battery state to full battery state is similar to that of charging the same device through PC. The oscillation in performance of the charger to iphone makes others in disappointment. Even as the release of this portable charger, the standard wall charger has no alternative and this is actually in use of those who need to charge the device on road, train or in middle of nowhere.
