    Hello Dear Indians,

We have greatest strength, power, wealth, vast resources i.e., our human resources(population) but be careful it is also greatest danger when calamities and drought occurs. Heavy population brings many problems, it will create disparities between people which rise criminal activities and others. I never seen Government is taking severe action to control and reduce the population like China. Why caste system is existing, why inequalities are rising more and others are due to growing population mainly.

I come to know that some species give up their lives for survival of young generations, but we human beings have many facilities to control the population besides we are not controlling our population, we are hunting the animals to end them.If this population grows we can simply swallow even the black-hole also.

Our lives are already in danger buy selling our beautiful atmosphere for chemical pollution and buying drinking water and due to air pollution we already started Oxygen Houses, if this grows our lives will automatically end our generations. First and far-most final solution for this to reduce this population expeditely is the most important.

    regards
    Srihari

    India's Population Time Bomb

Population is a resource, but up to a certain level only. If at a point of time, it becomes more than enough, population cannot be termed as a resource but a liability. And then comes the responsibility to control it. The leaders who are just supporting whatever is going on and not taking a bold step for a drastic change is not a leader at all. He or she is nothing but an opportunist. We need a leader who will dare to take a step for the sake of country in spite of oppositions from various quarters. “Nation First” must be the motto. And all the other elements related to community, religion and other interests come after that. We need a leader who will take a daring step to control population. Yes, population must be controlled by force.

I know about leaders who openly announced in public meetings to give birth to more and more children so that the number of their caste becomes more and they get more political strength. When all other lenient measures are getting failed, enforcement by the nation is the need of the day. Otherwise it will lead to a population explosion that will destroy our country.

Is any Indian leader has the guts to diffuse this most dangerous Population time bomb?

    Population density

If you compare the population density, i.e. population per square Km., of different countries, many developed countries have either the same or more population density than India. For example, Belgium has about the same population density as India, Holland has a bit more and Singapore has about 25 times more population density than that of India. So, from the development point of view, the present population is not a problem. The real problem is lack of vision, planning and policies which would raise the living standard of common public.

At present, India’s place in the UN Human Development Index is 134 in the list of 182 countries. This is because the current high development and rapid economic growth are not balanced at all. What we need is a balanced development program which considers not only one problem, like population, but considers all the problems and proposes global and integrated solutions to raise the living standard of all the population.

If you go to the thread ‘Indian Forums/India debate and discussions/Future of India/Living standard of majority of Indians living in India’ of this Forum, you will find there a program which can raise the living standard of all the Indians (mainly 90% lower income holders; the high 10% income holders have already a very high standard of living). The program there is quite feasible and possible to be implemented as all the natural resources and talent are available, the only thing is, a few people are needed who are really interested to implement it.

Regarding the population, it will be a real problem only if the current and old policies, which are in favour of keeping the common people deprived of the (best) facilities, continue and the population growth also continues at the same rate as now. The solution is the program mentioned above.

Population should definitely be controlled. However, managing it should not be as much as a herculean task as politicians would like us to believe. With proper planning of infrastructure, efficient resource creation and distribution, it might not be as bad as you think it is.

Of course, It is very much true that huge population brings many problem to India and its people.. But Government should take measures to stop the fastest growing population of India.. It should educate people who are ignorant towards the drawbacks of having 4 to 5 children.. and must propogate the ideas in the rural areas to stop the rising population and to control it...

Time has come to bring a law to stop population growth in India.According to me There is no other option left. The root cause of Poverty and unemployment in India is Population.

one more thing I want to bring into your consideration that congress can never make a law to stop population growth due to fear of loosing votes of a specific Religion

Productive population is not a problem

But if all of our population becomes productive, it can't be a heavy problem. The problem arises from the unproductive population. If we can inspire the entire population of India with patriotism and nationalism, this huge population can never be a problem for us.

I sincerely thank IndianYouth community for their endeavor to promote nationalism.

I agree wholeheartedly with population control. How about if Bollywood and Indian Tv did some mind control to persude the masses that less is more.
Do not forget people, that there is a huge DEATH RATE IN INDIA.:(:(:(
Some of these numbers are exagerrated and in no way do I believe that India has over a billion people, really it must be less in reality.
I think the actual number is in the region of 850 million really.

A good thing about a growing population is that there will be a abundance of young people really, but India actually has a 5 to 3 Male ratio in reality though.
India is the only country where the men outnumber the women.

A single policy or leader can not handle so many different communities, states, people, etc. With the support of regional leaders there should be multiple "customized" policies to reduce this problem.

I agree that many developed countries have around same or more density of people in comparison to India but still the distribution and utilization of resources is very uneven in India unlike those countries.

    Majorly disturbing our nation

You are absolutely right Srihari. It is really important to get a solution to this major problem of population explosion in India.

Today India's total population rate has grown so high that India is almost ranking top in the populated country list. This problem is very severely affecting many lives as people have less to eat, no homes for shelter, no clothes to wear, which all is forcing them to snatch things from others.

This is leading to higher number of thefts, murders, etc. So, people please take some important steps to stop this explosion from destroying our beautiful country India.

India is witnessing population explosion since past few years. The reason for this is illiteracy in india. People go on producing children even though they cannot afford to bring them up. This is mostly prevalent in rural parts of india. Though there are various family planning programs, their implementation is not a huge success. Educating the people and proper advertisement of family planning would control explosion of population

population in india is rising like a swarm of dragonflies. indian government is promoting family planning and birth control programs but this is not being done adequately and most of the part of india which is still into darkness follow multiple child policy. efforts should be made to change the mindset of all the citizens because if the current rate continues, india would face price rise and deficit in resources.

I am completely disagree with you at one point and that is the growing population will provide abundance of young people. But you have forgotten one thing that from where will these young people will get their education? We all know that more than 60% people are living below poverty line in india and most of the population rises from there only. Educated people does not do more than 1 or maximum 2 children. It is only these poor people who believes that if they have more children they have more earning hands. which is completely false. So growing population is not at all good for our country.

Population should be controlled by the government and population check policies should be started to keep an eye on the growing population of India. Population rise is very dangerous for the country as the demand is increasing but the scarcity of resources are there due to increase in population and ultimately the demand is rising high. This should be stopped until the situation gets worst.

though this issue seems to be very lsmall, it could be a potential threat to the stability of nation in future. if population goes on increasing at a faster pace, we would run short of living areas, food, other essential commodities, natural resources and issues like pollution, poverty crime etc would increase. so i think government must also take issues like population explosion into concern and move ahead with their policies.

India And Overpopulation: India ranks 2nd in population, but it ranks 33rd in population-density terms. For cure of overpopulation, Indira Gandhi's forced sterilization program in 1970s failed, officially men with 2 children or more had to get sterilized, but many ignorant poor men were sterilized, this program is still criticized and hampered Government programs for decades.
