The increasing number of crimes in India have made the nation totally unsafe and the police are not to be blamed for it, rather it is the Government who are to be blamed. The number of people employed in Indian Police force is less and they are not even given proper salary and are expected to work day and night. The reporters of the Aj Tak news channel are blaming the police for the increasing crimes but are not focusing on the actually issues. The reports take a hefty amount of salary along with several facilities from the channels to work even at night but with comfort and blames those police men, who work for a nominal salary. How can they expect someone to work round the clock for such a less salary and also expects them to be corruption free. Is it really possible. Government should now take steps for Police reforms and the first step is by increasing the salary of the Policemen as well as provide them with better amenities and facilities so that they can carryout their duty properly in making India a safe as well as crime free place.
I agree with you that Police reforms in India is the need of the hour. We keep blaming the police for every small and big crime but despite of the fact that they are conferred with certain rights, they are not able to exercise their rights due to political coercion. Moreover, we cannot expect a police officer whose salary is just about Rs.5,000-10,000/- a month to work 24x7 and also cannot expect them to be totally corruption free as they as well need to maintain their families and it is impossible to do it with such a minimal amount. Instead of blaming the police officers, there should be police reforms by increasing their salary and giving them the right to exercise their power to curb crime.
Police reforms is definitely the need of the hour. They are the ones on whom the society is dependent in terms of safety and security. It is important that Police force should be given more importance and given better facilities as they are the ones who works day and night to make sure that the citizens sleep in peace. However, it will be partiality to expect them to work 24x7 without proper facilities.
I completely give my consent to it. Police reform has become a must for our country if we want a better and safe India. I feel that media hypes out every situation and blames the police force for everything but they do not understand that these police works day and night for a minimal amount. However, government should take steps to make Police reform and make our security system better.
