    NON RESIDENT INDIANS
“Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”, which means, “The world is a family” is the essence of Indian tradition. And who else other than the Non-Resident Indians can efficiently popularize the motto? Yes, the NRIs have the power to be the missionaries of Indianness. Since the time immemorial, we the Indians have been embracing people from all over the world. And now, we have started residing in the far away countries across the globe. A recent report published by Govt. of India says that Indians are staying even in the little known countries like Burkina Faso and so on.

The non-resident Indian can create a Greater India on the basis of cultural heritage that crosses over the geographical boundaries and spread all over the world. Consequently, we will be able to generate public opinion in the whole world for any issue of India. Nobody will ever be able to ignore a public opinion created in every corner of the world. Imagine a situation when people from all the countries led by the NRIs are coming out to protest against a problem in India. Yes, the NRIs can make it possible. A powerful network of all the NRIs can make it happen.

It’s the time to form a universal brotherhood for the benefits of India and upholding the pride of being an India. But how can we do this? Can anyone suggest? We are proud of Sabeer Bhatia, we are proud of Amartya Sen, we are proud of Lakshmi Mittal. May more Non-Resident Indians make us proud!

    Jai Hind !

I do totally agree with you, but who cares about the Problems of NRIs , with remarkable successful stories there do exist some tragedies and sad climax of Non resident Indians all around the globe and unfortunately there is no one to focus on them or support or guide them. I call to our embassies and consulates to stand firm ,not behind not besides , but in front of our Desi like many other nations......JAI HIND

Indians are true to their roots

Desi Indians who settle abroad form a community and do every ritual that is prevalent in the Indian soil. Thus we can see that nationalism is fostered through small communities. Special mention may be made of the Indian Desi communities in and around London who celebrate each Indian festivals with the same enthusiasm as it is done back home. Thus these NRI residents hold on to the culture.

    The missionaries of Indianness

The NRIs have certainly added to the glory of India. Their success has surely brought India fame and given Indian a better recognition and stronger platform. Since Indians are close to their root, they are surely the source of spreading Indian culture far and wide. It is also important for people and government of India to understand and take care of the issue that NRI’s are facing abroad and should support them as they are citizens of India, irrespective of their current or residing area.
