By profession a doctor, Janvi Barua has very well depicted the personal, individual worlds of a different shed of characters and exposes the complex web of emotions so often hidden under the veneer of everyday lives in her book Next Door, which is a collection of 11 short stories. The book portrays naive desires and stealthy longings, the intricacy of vicious love and the horrible consequences of its betrayal, simple desire that induce brave action, life’s surprising reversals that exposes deep insecurities and yet pave the way for exculpation and compromise. This book is a great read and extremely well-written.
