    Dear all,

I need to take the help of Right to Information Act to obtain information regarding permission given by the Archaeological Survey of India for a building project.Under the rules formulated by the Supreme Court, constructions within a certain radius of protected monuments cannot go beyond a certain height. Consequently I have a problem. I live near the vicinity of the Mandpeshwar caves at Borivli, Mumbai. The builder who is re-developing our building has obtained NOC from the ASI permitting him to construct the building with a height of 24 metres on the ground that the church located above the caves have a height of 24.10 metres.

I would like to know from the ASI if they have physically verified the height of the church and if so on what date. I would also like to know the names of the ASI officials who have carried out the said verification. Consequently, I would also like to obtain in writing details about the permission given to the builder for going ahead with the re-development. Will it be alright if I jot down five-six questions and give it to the Public Information Officer? Is there any other formality I have to follow for the purpose?
