Apparently there seems to have an old established relation of India with slavery because earlier it was the India itself became a slave of colonial rule and even after becoming free from that slavery, it again got trapped with many new kinds of slaveries. There have been social, political and economic slaveries; the slavery of beliefs and actions. In the modern times the Indian society and the nation are still surprising the people of the world with having a number of approximate 14 million people who come under modern slavery. Modern slavery includes child labor, forced marriage, human trafficking, labor and debt bondage. This is truly pathetic and shameful to realize that India is leading in the top ten countries in modern slavery. Indian society is burning in the fire of slavery in which numerous of people are everyday burnt and tortured. Slavery is a ferocious trap that completely murders one's freedom to choose, express and liberty. Due to the vicious circle of poverty the poorer people are bound to become bonded and debt-labor, they are bound to work under someone who can lend them money and in return of which they have to work. This situation is at worst in the rural areas where the bonded farmers can work only on such terms. Then there are human trafficking, rich people and fake people misguide the innocent and illiterate people, they allure them by false offers of job and employment in other countries. Child labor is one of the biggest issues of the Indian society, small children who are at the age of playing and studying they have become laborers for the sake of money and to earn the livelihood for the family. This slavery in many forms is eating up the bright future of our country. And this is quite heart wrenching that India is still suffering from this taboo that should have been vanished a long time back.
