In my opinion people think that mathematics is the most difficult subject!! I have made an research about that what is the reason behind their thinking and I found that their basics are not so good as most of the people thought only about how to solve the problem and don't try to understand the logic behind it and most of the teachers also don't take much interest in explaining the students in simpler and different way and that's why the student feel bored in understanding it .I would love to hear suggestions from you also.
Teachers are not doing their job sincerely Yes True. The teachers in the school just do 1 or 2 sums from the exercise and give the rest for the children to do. The teachers very well know that if the students cannot solve by themselves , they will approach them for tuitions . This is their strategy. The children also forget the past lessons as they do not get enough practise and do not work out different sums and they argue that they want to do sums only given in the text book exercise.
Students of this generation fear mathematics like anything and also, most believe that if you flunk at maths you are dumb. This is a horrendous perception and such act of de-motivation must be curbed off. Like the fellow member, Mr. Abhishek mentions the root of the cause, I am totally in agreement with his finding. Subjects like maths and accounts are not troubles but needs a strong grip over them and this can only be possible when one is thorough with its basics. There are certain problems with the Indian education system and unfortunately they haven’t still been addressed – where most of the lessons are taught theoretically and teachers are impatient while explaining more than once. This not only causes a fall in the interest of children towards the subject but follows a fear in them.
If we can say so, I believe that the contrasting fact also seems to be true, that-mathematics is one of the easiest subjects. Maths is embedded into our lives and no individual can ever stay apart from its usage. Any subject becomes difficult with a disinterest towards it. So, if any conceptual base is lagging, it can be called as the most difficult subject. The clarity of concepts is the only way to turn it into an interesting and easiest subject of all. As other fellow writers have highlighted the issues with our Indian educational system, it is very true for an individual to be transparent with the logics behind mathematics. The only way to expertise in mathematics is to do mathematics.
