    New Market


    One of the most popular markets of Kolkata, New Market is located in Lindsay Street, just off Chowringhee Road. Also known by the name of Hogg's Market, it is one of the oldest markets in the city offering a wide range of different merchandize that include Jewellery, silverware, leatherwear, Cutlery, Crockery, Glassware garments, confectionery, clothing, dry fruits, poultry products, fish, meat, vegetable, flowers etc. The market has over 2000 shops and an apt place for people who love bargaining. The market remains open Monday to Friday from 10 AM to 8 PM and till 2:30 PM on Saturdays.

    Burrabazar Market

    The oldest wholesale as well retail market of Kolkata, Burrabazar is located on Mahatma Gandhi Road. It is the place to shop for whole sale business of textiles, cereals, food grains, spices, dry fruits, edible oils, sugar, salt and other groceries. There are good numbers of renowned retailed shops located in this market complex where the retail buyers sometimes buy products at the whole sale price.

    Dakshinapan Market

    A market that comprises various State Emporiums dealing in handlooms, textiles, handicrafts, imitation jewelry and fancy goods Dakshinapan Market is located close to Nazrul Mancha. People from different parts of the nation visits this market for purchasing various handicrafts and textile items at a reasonable price. Tea enthusiasts must stop by the renowned Dolly's Tea Shop.     Air Conditioned Market

    A replica of New Market Air Conditioned Market is located in Shakespere Sarani. Although a replica of the huge New Market, one cannot find a wide variety of merchandize as the former one. However, lothes, jewelry, watches, electronic goods, artificial plants etc, can be bought from this market. The Air Conditioned Market is generally visited by the people from elite class as the goods are a little expensive than other markets.
