Health is wealth and when you are considering the health one cannot really talk about the physical aspect only. Because health has to be seen in a holistic manner, it has to be a holistic health that includes not only the physical health but also the psychological aspect or mental health as well. Our emotions, feelings and thinking all together make our mental status. How do we feel , respond and think about something does have an impact on our lives and our body too. In today’s much fast and furious life we all are getting so much fussed into the activities that we hardly get any time to relax and calm our mind. Each one of us is facing varied mental tensions and turmoils, we soon feel frustrated and exhausted and then we ponder upon the mess we all have created for ourselves. Rather, reaching the peak of frustration one should be already aware and considerate to maintain a healthy mental status even if there are numerous of reasons which can spoil it easily. We cannot make an escape from the daily routine and professional works, but we can surely try to manage our mental health by giving little more importance to it. Because losing the mental health is not a cheesy thing, it can simply distract and disturb your work , relationships and life as well. Thus one should try to take out a little time in his/her busiest daily life routine to relax and try to get indulged in such activities that simply help to calm and soothe the mind. A short walk, sitting for five minutes of silence, meditation, reading and listening to positive thoughts, listening to soothing music, gardening, sitting near to nature might be a few of the great things one can do in order to manage the mental health. One should avoid the activities that distract and make the mind restless if truly wants peace and wants to relax, such as playing video games, listening loud music, surfing on the net and so on. The time you will devote to your mental health will certainly repay you in the form of happiness and joy in your life.

Apart from the aforementioned suggestions, you must not forget the importance of food in helping mental health.

Eating a lot of fried food and other unhealthy foods, deplete the energy and do not give any nourishment to the mind.

If you drink fresh juices, herbal teas, dry fruits and other healthy foods, your mental health stays better. You stay more optimistic and confident too.

If you feel that you are unwell mentally, never hesitate to consult a doctor. It is more important that than worrying about what people say.

What are the other ways to keep up mental health?

Mind, brain are the controlling units of our whole body. But this world has a psychology of not caring about the most valued one. This era has made man so much developed that his thoughts are becoming more and more irrational. This irrationality is nothing but the outcome of not taking proper mental care. Daily chores has turned man into a machine. It works as a puppet to this advanced technology. In the mean while, he forgets that he is blessed with the most important thing i.e., mind. It should be taken care of at the very first. Because if it gets dull or ill, we all stop existing in this modernized world.

In addition to the suggestions made by other fellow writers, I would like to say that, if we start finding happiness and contentment in every small happenings of our life, then it will greatly contribute in giving us “mental peace”. Contentment makes one realize about how much he/she has. The true happiness lies with oneself and cannot be searched in this outer world. If an individual attains satisfaction, he ditches mental illness to a great extent.
