Indian women are forging ahead in the field of education and employment. But they have not developed powerful women organizations nor movements to safeguard their interests. Neither at the national level nor at the state level, is such a strong women's organization found. This situation has further added to the exploitation of the Indian women in the present scenario. Women have been represented as a the weaker sex. this fact is also borne by the number of crimes and atrocities committed against them. There are cases of rape, kidnapping of girls, dowry harassment, molestation, abuse of women and so on. It is true that the Central and the State Government have undertaken various legislative and other measures for promoting the welfare of women. We cannot, however say that the intended purposed of the Government is fulfilled and the targeted persons have received all the benefits. the educated, middle class and upper caste women of towns and cities have taken relatively greater advantage of these measure, whereas the vast mass of uneducated, lower class and lower caste women of the rural areas are not even aware of most of these welfare measures. the deficiencies involved in these measures and the inefficient implementation of the developmental programmes bu the indifferent bureaucrats have come in the way of the success of these measure. do you agree with the above point of view?
