Kashmir has a diverse culture and tradition and this can be well witnessed in their marriages. Unlike others, Kashmiris practice a huge number of rituals and culture and each of them is enjoyable. Kashmiri weddings are solemnized with grandeur and lavishly. They give more emphasis on matching the horoscope of the soon-to-be bride and groom as well as on the status, reputation and background of both the families. They perform a huge number of pre-wedding rituals which include Livun & Wanwun, Maanziraat Ceremony and Devgon & Duribat. The wedding ceremony is a grand affair which is colorful and showy among all other Indian weddings. The ceremony starts with receiving the marriage procession, followed by the actual wedding ceremony, vidai ceremony and then welcoming of the newly weds. Weddings offer a great deal of enjoyment and merry making for the relatives and friends of both the bride and the groom. The post wedding ceremonies include Satraat Ceremony, Phirlath Ceremony and Roth Khabar.

Like the uniqueness of the land, Kashmiri weddings are also unique in its own way.
