The historical city of Janshi is situated on a rocky plateau between the rivers Betwa and Pahunj in the Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh. The city has a rich historical past and was ruled by the Chandela Dynasty. Later, Jhansi came under the rule of Maharaja Chattrasal Bundela of Panna, who gifted it to Peshwa Baji Rao (I) in 1729. The city is famous for the legendry Rani Lakshmi Bai. The city is a popular heritage destination of India and many tourists visits this place for its rich historical heritage and monuments. Some of the major tourist attractions of this place include Jhansi Fort, Jhansi Museum, Rani Mahal and Chhatri of Gangadhar Rao.
