The present system of central government is to act as a facilitator to States. Even though this is the aim, the central government is keen to show online to the public about the development of each habitation with its entire infrastructure. To have this in online, the central government is asking the states to involve community as much as possible and plan for “Village Action Plan (VAP), “District Action Plan” and also “Comprehensive State’s Action Plan” (CSAP). With this as target, smaller states are more convenient than having bigger. All Indians are to think of these things better and suggest the Government for better future. Many States, including the present issue of Telangana in Andhra Pradesh and Vidarbha in Maharashtra are on headlines. I invite sincere discussions and suggestions in this forum for better future of India in this regard.

    Thank You

Smaller states should not be based on any language or caste

Though it may be necessary to create smaller states, it should be done only for administrative purposes.

No state should be formed on the basis of language, caste or community. Otherwise it will be one more blow to the nationalism of our country. We don't need any more division amongst us.

    Issues of Smaller States formation

Forming smaller states may function well on administration ground, besides they may even help in creating more government job openings. However, the idea behind these making of smaller states is development and better administration, but it should be taken care of that these states should not allow any kind of discrimination based on language, caste or creed. The smaller states should rather support people with better job opportunities and more security.

    Secularism should not be forgotten

Formation of small states for better administration and employment opportunity sounds fine but it should maintain the secularism of our country and should definitely not promote regionalism. We should stand united and should not create a situation of interstate wars, border wars, river wars etc.
The final motive should be to develop the country.

my opinion on this is smaller states would serve better purpose to us as the government would have less people to take care of. the work would proceed in a faster pace and projects can be finished in less time. everything would be in a controlled mode if states are smaller.

this issue cannot be dealt with easily as for that its the bulk people demanding it. it is some of the master minds who spark these issues amongst the group of people and make the issue bigger. though a state does not need any bifurcation or trifurcation, some people make it more of a political issue. it the governments job to stop the violence and control the situation and people should be more rational for asking something.

The formation of small states is not a good idea as far as the peace of the country is concerned. if we divide each other in small parts then that day would not be far when the country itself is divided in to two parts. major riots will take place and in place of small states many countries separately will come up.

i agree wat pankajindian said.. even if new states are created they must be made without division of caste or religion or creed or any language. people should not be affected in anyways except that the administration in the new region becomes more efficient in working. the sole aim of creation of new state should be, to have a better than before and efficient government.

The issue of small state formation is simply not done. I am completely against the idea as it gives increase to the policy of divide and rule. It breaks the people on the basis of caste creed religion and color. This has happened in Maharastra and which created unrest among people for many days and still it exists.

Sorry to say but I completely disagree with your thoughts as I do not find the formation of smaller states would do any benefit for India. It will simply bring more and more chaos to the country and its people. It was the policy followed by the Britishers which was popularly known as Divide and Rule! Faster pace would definitely bring in the work but it will only lead to the division of people on the basis of states and languages. SO I am nit in favor of the formation of smaller states, no matter how much is the need arises. Well, You spoke your views and I spoke mine. As we are living in the democratic nation, so we have all the freedom :)

It has been discussed many times before that the formation of smaller states is good or not and does it has any relevance in today's time. I think strongly that the formation of smaller states will only offer division among country and its people. It will only create chaos and a feeling of different state and people after being one for so many years. SO states formation is not at all a good idea.

The issues of smaller state formation is not at all good idea according to me. Why do people want to divide the nation on the basis of caste, creed or color? what is the problem they are facing that they are demanding the formation of new states? I actually do not understand this thing.

Smaller state issue is becoming common now and people are demanding for separation. I actually do not understand that what forces people to make such demands? Are not they happy being living in one region or country or state? I think this is the idea pop up from few groups of people or community who wants to divide india and its states.

In my view, instead of breaking apart a state into pieces, the administration in the region can be strengthened which is for the regional people ask for a separation. Most of the times the issue of smaller states in India is merely a political tactics to start their (parties asking for a separate state) own regime in the new area.

I do not encourage formation of small states. Social barriers shouldn't be the reason for the formation of small states. Large states can provide high number of MP seats which increases power of state in parliament. Being a small state, they get low funds and less power in parliament. When government starts the formation of small states then there's no doubt one day united india will break down into small countries.

Only in case where a larger state faces turmoil due to inadequate administration staff and attention to grievances of people, the formation of a smaller state can be encouraged. But many of the regional political parties ask for a separate state for political reasons so as to set up their parties into function. Govt. must not allow such things to happen because it is never in the interest of common man.

Many smaller states have been created in recent times as it makes administration easier. Although the concept of forming smaller states has not solved any issue in India or have not helped in development and progress of the nation, it has only helped in proper administration which was the sole reason of creating smaller states.
