In my opinion Indian media is more corrupt that even Indian politicians and many examples can be given to prove that. Today's media is governed by private limited companies.they are listed on stock exchanges and the primary motive is profit & working towards the interest of investors.Social awareness & awakening is not their primary aim...That is why more often than not we get biased news or fake news which is far from reality.
Yes I agree that the news given under "Breaking News" is irrelevant, but due to the growing competition among these New channel all of them try to present the best stories or almost anything to keep the viewer entertained. But apart of the usual nonsense, they really do a good job on the occassion of a natural or man made calamity. but I've got only one complaint, How the hell can they record someone getting beaten up and then also showing it on TV. I've seen stories on some news channels where a police guy is beating random people including women, dragging them with their hair,. I just DO NOT understand what kind of journalist is he if he DOES NOT object to it and instead what the whole drama and cover it. Really shameful.
Media is one of the most corrupt institutions in India, they will do anything to get richer and improve their TRP, including feeding viewer with false info and spreading rumours of worst kinds.
and then they have some really scary hosts talking about the incidents taken place all over the country. HORRENDOUS!!!
My suggestion to all media hater watch DD news it has better news and good information than other u will not complaint once again but we don’t want to watch that as it does not contain the spicy thing which been shown in other news channel. Just watch DD news for some days and see even advertisement there are better informative than news in other channel
we DO NOT get DD channel or may be we do but never took to the pain to watch it. Will try searching tonight.
I think DD comes everywhere in India and some time it comes without cable connection also you can watch live news streaming here http://www.ddinews.gov.in/
I used to get TV feeds through cable connection, now I have shifted to IPTV, in both cases I noticed that for some reason all Doordarshan channels particularly DD news and the national channel come with lower quality (Audio and Video) signal, when using antenna, feed is super-high quality, I think it is a deliberate attempt of popular media houses to tarnish Doordarshan's image. I am smelling consipiracy.....any like minded person huh?

Yes, the media is corrupted... but its not just here in india its everywhere around the world.....Still there are channels which bring abt the apt. news... I guess one should have sting operations against the media houses as well, may be then the truth would reach the audience............
yes The politicians are mercenary and so is the media, Who's more or who's less doesn't really matters. Also the same can't be measured. Both are sinners!!!
It is Indian media is becoming more corrupted day by day. THey are simply busy in making their money and increasing the TRp rates. NEws channels are showing what they are debarred to show. The Live telecast of the MUmbai attack is the recent example of the irresponsibility of Indian media.
Indian media is misusing the freedom conferred to them by the Indian Constitution and have turned into a more profit making business than working for the welfare of the nation. I agree that Indian media have become more corrupt than the politicians and they provide biased news only for money. It is indeed sad that Indian media, which is an instrument of Indian democracy is becoming more and more corrupt with passing time.
