Air Chief Marshal PV Naik has admitted that India lacks the air power to meet the myriad terror threats facing the country. Earlier, Admiral Suresh Mehta publicly admitted that India was no match for China and china was likely to be more assertive in its claims on the neighborhood and called for countering its space capabilities.

Is Indian Defense Forces might enough to take on emergency situations?

Depends on what kind of emergency situations you are talking about.
If it is a pre-emptive air strike by China, I think we can kiss our lives goodbye. However, we will be in with a chance if & when a state of war is clearly declared between the two nations.
Ideally, India should be trying to remain as diplomatic as possible, while still not giving an inch of Arunachal Pradesh to China.
Chinese forces keep probing the region.
