There are so many international sporting events in which India has hosted as well as co-hosted which includes 1951 Asian Games, 1982 Asian Games, 1987 Cricket World Cup and 1996 Cricket World Cup, etc.

The country India has a variety of sports that are played. There are various traditional games that are fairly popular such as kabaddi, kho-kho, pehalwani and gilli-danda.

Do you think india has the stamina to overshadowed the international games? Are not our games are as popular as international games like cricket or football? Will we be able to establish out name in the International sack?

I think it is time we should realize that our traditional games/sports should be promulgated through various means whatsoever inorder to save them from becoming obliterated. International sports however always remain in vogue due to the media's support. If media starts bringing up our traditional sports, there could be significant improvement in development of traditional sports.

Traditional games can be made popular but then this requires attention of both government and media. Without funding the traditional games, such games would not grow and without branding them on media, people wouldn't recognize their importance. So i totally agree with Student that media would play a major role in improving the standards of our traditional games. Agree??
