Although inter caste marriages were not so much welcomed by the old Indian Caste system but for the last few years we have noticed less of flexibility in this concern. However this resilience is still limited for certain castes and only for men and women were never be a part of such a change. Women were earlier as well as in the present not at all free to opt for inter caste marriages. The Indian marriage system has always been very rigid for women and with their matter of choices. Indian women are not allowed to choose a boy out of her caste and to go beyond the boundary of her family's caste. It is solely the family of the girl who will decide about where the girl would be married and to whom. Particularly in the villages and the remote areas where the caste system is still prevalent, inter caste marriage is considered to be a Sin and if a girl tries and decides to do so, then she has to pay a heavy cost for this. The elders of the family and the community just cannot tolerate the girl to go against their wishes and guidelines. The world is progressing but the rigid caste system is still static. It is still adamant and rigorous for the women who also want some freedom of expression and choice in their lives.
