The Indian renaissance was initiated by Raja Ram Mohan Roy and carried forward by Swami Dayanand Saraswati, Ram Krishna Paramhans, Swami Vivekanand, Vinoba Bhave, Goapl Krishna Gokhale, Annie Bessant, , and Mahatma Gandhi. Most importantly, Lokmanya Tilak encouraged public festivals and gatherings such as Ganesh Chaturthi to increase the nationalist sentiment in the masses. This is an important period for the Indian culture.

Yes indeed, Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Swami Dayanand Saraswati, Lokmanya Tilak, Swami Vivekanand, just to name a few are the father of Indian Renaissance during their own time and these periods of Indian history are remarkable as they helped in changing the outlook of people and henceforth, helped in changing our society, taking it towards modernization. The Indian Renaissance is indeed a significant period for Indian culture and the whole society.
