Caste as a Source of Vote-Bank : Political role of caste is gaining more importance today. Political parties are relying more and more on select caste groups to secure caste based votes. Political parties and Politicians are making consistent efforts to create their caste based vote banks. As long as these vote banks survive, so long caste remains a powerful force in politics. Caste as an Interest Groups or a Pressure Groups : All established and well organized castes are today functioning as political "pressure groups" or "interest groups". In order to protect its interest each major caste is creating a "caste lobby" or a caste pressure group. Caste lobbies exert a great influence on the caste members at the time of elections, and on all major political events and happenings. What do you think over this view being an Indians?
