GDP contribution of mining industry ranges only from 2.2%-2/5% but if going by GDP of total industrial-sector contribution is around 10-11%. Although mining is done in small scale, contributes 6% to entire mineral production cost. Indian Mining-industry provides 0.7million individuals job opportunities.
Thats quite a lot of potential what mining industry holds. Though mining in India is done on a small scale basis, there is a wide scope for it to broaden the mining activities. But at the same time, Mining activity should be kept within the environmental norms.
