India is the world’s largest democracy with a population of more than a billion people. India has the World’s lengthiest Constitution. However, today Indian Democracy is all about getting votes. Although, we have the right to vote and elect our own government but today we vote and elect the wrong one. The politicians work as well as make false promises just before the elections just to gain votes and later they forget everything. What do you think?
u are absolutely right....the politicians are more filled with corruption than they are with good will for a better India......yes we are wrong for voting for these corrupt politicians......nd sometimes even if we dont want to vote for these politicians who promote a democratic India....we are forced to do so.....we may have become a revolutionized country in terms of gaining independence from the british.....but these politicians are no less than the british....the british left....but these politicians are no less corrupt.....India needs new leaders.....it would be great for the youth of India to become the next leaders.....
I believe that Indian democracy was designed for a way better purpose but people are using it in a wrong way. When India became a democratic nation, people then didn't have in mind that our own people would loot our fellow citizens. We just got rid from the foreign looters. But now that we have got to realize where we are leading with this constitution, i guess we need to reframe our constitution to close the loopholes which exists in the system. What do you think?
It is right that Indian Democracy was designed for a better purpose but the leaders under whom the British handed over India has highly misused the power. With innocent people all around, who did not know what democracy actually meant were highly exploited. Moreover, these leaders could not handle the power that were bestowed on them and have misused it immensely and exploited the people. Sadly enough, anarchy prevails in India under the mask of Democracy and it is just about getting votes and nothing else. What do you think?
How do you think would this change? We have a strong democracy which is actually tough to handle due to its vastness and the large population of India. Its the political system which is at fault and not the democracy per se. We need to change the familial politics in India. Most of the ministers have familial political background and its all turned up as a business. Due to few corrupt people, the whole political class gets the blame and few bureaucrats also get their hands dirty due to bad influences. Not to play the blame game, we truly lack a definite sense of morality in ourselves at higher level, when given high powers.
