As the craze and popularity of cricket is going up by each passing day in India, cricket has become the unofficial game of India for sure. The cricket mania in the country is spreading like frenzy and a common phenomenon in either side of country whether East, West, North and South. Almost every state in India plays the cricket as the local governments in the states support this sport with all grants and other required utilities. Unfortunately this game has tarnished the space for the national game hockey; the craze for the game is getting more and more prominence.

Many of us are tempted with the glory that cricket offers to us.

Money, fame, glory, approach and power that cricket has incepted in the life of cricketers is the biggest passion that allures the young generation to this sport. Induction of the IPL or Twenty formats has intensified the fire more abruptly as more and more money, endorsement and recognition has become the integral part of day to day lives of the cricketers. Being a fan of our favorite cricketers we unintentionally create a bond with these cricketing legends. This is the bond that accelerates our thought process when Sachin makes a half century and century in a match. Story falls same when we feel haunted when he is dismissed on a ball. This is all because of the popularity of these players among the huge audience base. The craze for these players among the cricket lovers is almost alike irrespective of region, age, gender, cast and creed. The popularity however seems more prevalent among the teens.

The most drastic affection was witnessed in the Indo-Pak cricket match during the ICC world cup 2011 match. Pakistani supporters found it very difficult to run smooth with the debacle of the Pakistani team against India and unfortunately several people in the opponent country died of heart attack. Some other fans filled a case in the court to determine whether match was fixed. The rage was so deeper that various people had destroyed their TV sets even. This is probably the place where cricket mania works better.
