Army Day marks a day to remember the Brave Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect our Nation and the Indians living in it. Army Day is celebrated on 15th of January every year. in recognition of Lieutenant General (later Field Marshal ) K. M. Kariappa's taking over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army.

Indian Army played very important role as the other Indian freedom fighters in instilling democratization in India.

General Kodandera Madappa Cariappa shared a good bonding with both natives and Britishers and then succeeded General Roy Butcher of British Army to become the first Indian Commander in Chief of the democratic India.

Indian Army fights adversities on Indian borders as well as with natural calamities in India. The Indian Army works with true dedication and spirit of the motto ‘fight to win’.

today is the 63 anniversary of Great Indian army . The Army re-dedicates itself to become a part of the ‘War Winning Team’ on this day. The day begins with paying homage to the martyred soldiers at the Amar Jawan Jyoti at the India Gate, New Delhi. It is followed by parades and many military shows which feature the technology and achievements in Army which is held at the Delhi Cantonment every year. Unit credentials and Sena Medals are also presented for gallantry on the occasion.

    Time to Celebrate

India celebrate its Army day on 15th of JanuaryEvery year the day is celebrated on the same date.

India stand up united to pay respects to the brave men and women who have laid down their lives to safeguard our way of life.

Since India's independence, the Indian Army has grown to be a professional, apolitical and humanitarian force to reckon with, while serving in the most adverse and diverse conditions.

Unlike any Army in the world, Indian Army has had the unique experience of fighting wars, at minus 50 degrees centigrade, in Siachen and braving the hot climate conditions in the Thar desert, at plus 50 degrees.

It is time to stand up and Salute
to show that we Indians have not forgotten the fallen.
It is time to salute The Indian Army; to show that as we move on, we cherish their memories,
we value their sacrifice and we hail their courage.

    Happy Army Day !
Jai Hind !! Jai Bharat !
