India is showing interest in extending relations and economic tie ups with Qatar. Recently india has sought additional 2 to 5 million tonnes of Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) from Qatar, in addition to the existing 7.5 million tonnes which India imports from it. Apart from this quite a many indian companies are planning to venture into qatari lands. Qatar is the largest producer of fertilizers and India has a large, potent agricultural sector which needs high amount of fertilizers. Improving the ties would help india have benefits on its end.
