The relation between in India and Israel is a significant move in Indian politics.Good diplomatic relation is the key to success in the new world. As Terrorism has gone global, the strategy to tackle terrorism must also be globalized. Terrorism is not just an issue. It has become the question of survival and national integrity. India and Israel both the countries are the worst sufferers of terrorism. The Mumbai Terror attack brought another opportunity to India and Israel to climb a new step in the diplomatic relation and military cooperation. Israeli people got killed in the soil of India by Pakistani terrorist. And Israel expressed their interest to offer help to India in investigation. A country has every right to protect itself from terrorism. But often the retaliatory action taken by Israel is too aggressive. India may not be in a position to follow the steps of Israel. But India has much to learn from Israel like military techniques, intelligence and the awareness of the people. Apart from diplomatic relation, tourism is also an element that connects both the countries. India is a popular tourist destination in Israel. India gets a significant number of tourists from Israel every year. Place like “Kasol” in Himachal Pradesh has become like mini Israel in India. India is earning good revenues from the Israel tourists. Long Live India-Israel Friendship !
india's relations with israel have been pretty good so far as we are getting adequate help in case of intelligence, defense strategies, tactical weaponry and much more. we should keep up the relations with israel and also extend our help to it as a return of favour.
Foxglove, I guess all the muslim countries are the slave of Pakistan and must not be trusted. There are people in these countries that play the role of secret supporters of these muslim countries and in the shed of friendship they ditch other countries and you can say that they are just waiting for the right time to do counter attack.
@ Rekha Gupta well to remind you, i would like to say that israel shares its defense strategies with india and many of indian soldiers training, arms and ammunition come from israel which is helping indian defense to come up. India is not inventing any new arms or any defense structures. all of them are brought from countries like israel and russia. we should acknowledge the helping hand lent to us.
india is slowly developing into a big nation and is on the way to become a super power.. in such a case, it needs to have good relations with nations which could help it on its way.. israel is one such nation which has constantly given military inputs to india, be it training, or weaponry. india must continue its relation with israel in a positive way so as to carry forward its journey without much apprehensions.
Israel is among largest arms supplier to India and also time to time provide intelligence sharing and support. Israel itself is plagued with various border and boundary issues and has been in news from past few years. India should consider extending its social and cultural ties with Israel.
india has its military trading mostly with israel. and i think india should confine the relations with israel only to the extent of economic and techno arms exchanges. because israel is entrenched in many international issues with other countries, it would not be healthy for india to indulge into its private matters.
Indo-Israeli relations have been good so far and India gets its military aid mostly from Israel. Slowly even the people of both the nations are recognizing the friendship and bondage of both the nations which is a positive sign of strengthening of relations between the two nations. India should also improve its diplomatic relations with Israel so as to improve trade and commerce mutually along with military might.
True, we are heavily dependent on oil from the Gulf countries which are the closest in distance from India. We must remember the recent brouhaha of India buying oil from Iran. That's why India cannot afford to upset the cart with the Middle East by supporting Israel in all matters. Import of Arms and ammunition, especially with superior technology are also India's primary needs as we are surrounded by belligerent countries in the North and West. But energy needs are a primary concern. Thus, a delicate balance has to be maintained through diplomacy. There is no other way out. Otherwise we will be left with proverbial Hobson's choice. Buy Oil or buy guns. Tough choice indeed!
