India is a Land where Food is Worshiped and treated as Sacred

Food is one of the basic necessities of the human body as it has a big role to play in the development and growth of the same. It gives energy, stamina, and strength to the body and this fact has been well understood and respected by the Indians so far. In India food is not just a physical entity or commodity rather it is treated as Sacred and equal to God. We Indians truly understand and realize the importance of food also because India is an agriculture based country, here farmers give their whole and soul to produce the food grains, they know the value of their hard work and we all understand that too. In fact since the Vedic period food had been worshiped because we have associated a variety of spiritual, emotional and physical significance to it. We Indians firmly believe in eating the right kind of food and in the righteous manner because we firmly glued to the perception that it is the food that creates in the mind of the person. The thoughts and ideas of an individual are directly affected by the kind of food one intakes. Vegetarianism is the ancient food culture recommended in the Indian philosophy according to which food should be comprised of pure vegetables, food grains, pulses and fruits only. The non - vegetarian food was totally condemned. In India we give much of attention even to the preparation and serving of food in the right manner. In the ancient times the food was prepared in earthen pots which used to preserve the nutritional values of the food very well, food used to be served while sitting on the earth and before initiating the food, it was offered to the gods and goddess. Food plays a major role for Indians, that is why there are numerous of food cuisines available, everyone here is fond of food. We Indians very proudly worship the food and connects its importance to our spiritual, physical and psychological development.
