Since I am pursuing my Masters in Development Policy, I recently had to come in terms with few social issues that still prevail in India. And ironically, even if we claim to climb up the stairs of development, we are not ready for a massive change in society. With this realization, I decided to ask some of my friends about their opinion on inter-caste marriage, especially with people from SC/ST/OBC category. Contrast to what I had expected, half of the targeted audience supported against it with most of the reasons being related to family acceptance. Hence, with keeping the educated youth in mind, I decided to set up a poll on this issue and it is in deep interest of mine to know where we exactly lack or what, not if education, can really bring about the much-necessary change.
