Student life is said to be the best time to inculcate several qualities in oneself. Students are considered to be the most energetic and vibrant group of the society and has the capability to change the whole society. Politics is a vast field that provides various opportunities for the students inculcated within them the quality of leadership and it is an important part of the learning process. Politics also makes the students aware about the surroundings and happenings. It makes a student a good spokesperson and also helps in making a student self-confident and helps in progressing in life. However, Politics is considered as a dirty game and parents are apprehensive about their children joining Politics even during their student life and this is solely because of the present political scenario of the nation. Nevertheless Politics is not bad, rather it helps a student to develop proficiency to deal with people from all milieus. Moreover, Politics offers exposure for a student and help him/her to improve their hidden or dormant talents. With the presence of students union in colleges, it is not possible to detach Politics from the life of student. Students who are involved in Politics are the future politicians of our nation and they are capable of changing the present scenario of Indian Politics which have become a pit of dirt and corruption. Today’s youth can prove to be better future politicians as they are more intelligent and understand the present situation of the nation. They have the capability to move mountains as well. Student Politics has always been playing an important role in Indian Politics and also in making students eligible to face every situation in life. Politics not only prepares a student to become a politician but also makes him/her eligible to dispense their duty more efficiently. Although politics has both constructive as well as destructive effect, it is important in a student’s life as it helps a student evolve as human being and understand the grave issues of society. In my view, every student should take interest in politics and get involved in it but should not forget their studies as education can only make better leaders for our society. Students are barred from joining politics by their guardians especially because of the present criminalization of politics, breaking down of democratic organizations, corruption, communalism and casteism. A student who is actively involved in student’s politics and aspires to join politics in future should understand the condition of our nation and should not indulge in adherent politics, or follow unfair directions of senior party leaders. The student unions of colleges should encourage the students to take interest in politics and become the precursor of new politics in India for a promising and better nation. Students or rather the youth of India are a ray of hope that can change the nation and remove the stain that Indian Politics holds and make India a better and developed nation.
I agree that student politics is important and plays a huge role in shaping and individual. Moreover, student politics also helps the students to become smarter, confident and better leaders. It helps an individual to become a better orator and this helps them in which ever field they choose as their career. However, students should take interest in politics but not get so much involved that they get deviated from their actual goal.
I am not personally very much in favor of students getting involved in politics. I have witnessed many students get involved in college and university politics and forget their studies and land up nowhere. Although I agree that students involved in politics become good orators but this does not help them in every aspect of life. Mostly students get deviated from their actual goal and get more involved in the politics of their colleges and universities.
