We can see a growing trend, especially in the metro cities of India – the emergence of play schools. People from earlier generations often question the need for such facilities, backing up their arguments with the fact that they did perfectly fine without such conveniences in their times and did not find any rationale behind the extra expenses now. As much as their views carry weight, yet it is undeniable that changing times have brought a lot of changes to the education system of India. The fact that it has to match with the psychological needs of the coming generations has been realized and being tried to be met in different ways. Play schools help in developing better skills, reducing shyness and instills in children feelings of commonness, sharing and cooperation – which come handy for these children when they join schools for the first time. Since everything have their own flip-sides, I would like to know the counter-arguments to this issue.
No doubt, Pre-schools make sure that kids have lot of fun and teachers keep them busy in skill development activities but pre-school programs need to be properly organized, so that children’s learn all the right things. Kids must be focused closely such that they don’t take any bad habits. Toddlers learn a lot of things from their peers and surroundings. So it is important for parents to go through the curriculum and experience of teachers before admitting their children into pre-schools.
