Implications of NET Examination

    NET Examination stands for the National Eligibility Test that is conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in order to determine the eligibility of the entrants in teaching profession and research. Through the NET exam UGC determines the eligibility for Lectureship and to grant the Junior Research Fellowship to the Indian Nationals. Those who want to pursue in teaching profession in universities/colleges as Lecturers need to quality this exam while those who are Research Work aspirants are also suggested to qualify the JRF that is available for five years to the qualified candidates after fulfilling certain conditions. This exam is conducted in various subjects of science and humanities and that is twice in an year (June & December).

    The present exam structure is Objective/Multiple Choice Questions. There are total three papers in which First paper comprised of the general teaching aptitude and reasoning ability and rest of the Second & Third papers are based on the subject chosen in the Master's level of post graduation. A candidate who is quite serious about excelling in the Academic prospects should never neglect this exam and should begin to prepare for it right from the post graduation level. Clearance of NET exam will also help in getting admission in Ph.D Programmes.
