Hyundai launched a C+ segment sedan car in India by the name of Hyundai Verna Fluidic. Although the Verna was launched in India in the year 2006, the Fluidic version came much later with a perfect blend of excellent exteriors and interiors, which makes it more than just a sedan car. Offering sleek good looks, advanced technology and revolutionary safety features, this Sedan is a score above the rest, and a revolution ahead. The New Verna is available in a range of attractive colours including Sleek Silver, Carbon Grey, Stone Beige, Phantom Black, Crystal White, and Purple Fantasia. The Verna Fluidic comes with two variants diesel and petrol along with both automatic and manual transmission options. Hyundai Verna Fluidic Design and Interiors Now, the Verna Transform has undergone a few cosmetic changes where the front end gets a new front grille, bumper and headlamps and the rear gets an updated bumper, tail lamps and a chrome tip exhaust and everything else remains the same on the Verna. The car also comes with a few changes on the inside. The car now boasts a blue backlighting, which now, most upgraded Hyundai cars come with, as part of standard Hyundai family styling. The other change in the Verna Transform is the new twin-dial instrument cluster with chrome surrounds. Apart from these changes, the Verna Transform remains the same on the inside when compared to the outgoing Verna. The fabric on the Verna Transform has been changed and the Verna Transform offers good legroom for the front row seats. Climb into the rear seats and neither you nor the ones who like to be chauffeur-driven will go away disappointed. However, to our dismay, the Verna Transform lacks steering mounted audio controls, which are being offered on well - almost all of its competitors. Hyundai Verna Fluidic Engine Technology & Performance The new Hyundai Verna, with innovative technology at its heart, it is a treat to drive. Hyundai New Verna commits to deliver unmatched power and outstanding performance with its refined and powerful engine technologies. Equipped with a choice of four engines, two petrol and two diesel, it is available in six petrol variants and seven diesel variants. The Hyundai new Verna comes with two petrol engines, 1.4 VTVT (variable timing valve train technology) that generates a power of 105.5 bhp @ 6300 rpm and a torque of 135.3 Nm @ 5000 rpm, while the 1.6 VTVT churns out a power of 121.3 bhp @ 6300 rpm and a torque of 154.9 Nm @ 4200 rpm. The diesel 1.4 litre CRDi VGT (Variable Geometry Turbocharger) engine generates a power of 88.7 bhp @ 4000 rpm and a torque of 219.9 Nm @ 1750-2750 rpm, while the 1.6 CRDi VGT engine pumps out a max power of 126.3 bhp @ 4000 rpm and a torque of 259.8 Nm @ 1900-2750 rpm. Compliant to Euro V emission norms, the engine provides unmatched performance and outstanding fuel efficiency. Both the petrol engines are equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission, while the diesel engines are mated to 6-speed manual transmissions. However, the top end petrol and diesel variants of the Verna are available with an option of 4-speed automatic transmission. The MacPherson strut suspension paired with coil springs and couple torision beam axle, constitutes the front and rear suspensions of the gas type shock absorbers fitted in the car that help improve performance, drivability, and handling. This also offers greater stability and improved traction. The power assisted rack and pinion steering adds more joy and thrill to the driving experience. Till now Hyundai is known for delivering technology at-par with its every model, and this time also it is surprisingly awesome. The car doesn’t come with steering-mounted audio controls. The interior styling remains almost unchanged since its launch. Most of the competitors now offer more features at a similar price tag and are fresh-looking. Plus, cars such as the new Volkswagen Vento which has just entered the Indian market are only going to raise the bar further. We were disappointed to see the Verna getting just a facelift rather than a complete transformation with a more modern design. Little surprise therefore that the new Verna has merely been transformed to keep it looking fresher from its predecessor.
