After success of i10, which became quite popular, Hyundai launched its new car, which is large hatchback, i20. This car was launched in 2009 and gained popularity for being stylish, loaded with features and being spacious. It came with a price tag that ranged between 4.92 and 7.96 lakhs in India.

Leaving an imprint of European design, i20 has a numerous longitudinal lines and curves all over the body, which lends a rugged look. The new i20 haselectric folding mirrors , keyless entry and go, reverse camera along with climate control, auto wipers and six airbags. It also comes with Bluetooth connectivity as well as USB, Aux-in ports and audio system. It has a 5-spoke alloy wheels. The instrument gauge cluster has three dials where the small central dial has a temperature gauge and fuel level indicator on either side and the steering wheel of i20 has audio controls on it. The seats as well are quite comfortable giving enough space for legs allowing passengers to sit comfortably.

Technology wise The 1.4-litre common rail engine of the i20 is a refined Hyundai CRDi engine and the 16-valve 89 bhp 1396cc engine produces a maximum of 220Nm of torque. The car provides 0-100kph 12.6 seconds while testing and the CRDi engine is noisy with a strong turbo kick at about 1800rpm. The turbocharger itself does not encroach with the typical piercing grip characteristic of turbos.

With a number of features, i20 is a decent hatchback car to drive in the cities. It is easier to drive as it comes with a light clutch, superlight steering, light gearshift and satisfying engine responses. Hyundai's i20 is a decent car with sylish design and interiors and is quite spacious with enough space to spread your legs and sit comfortably. According to me Hyundai i20 is aimply the best hatchback car in India.
