The Aryans did not believe in Idol worship and prayed in the open air through rituals. They worshipped natural forces and associated them with Gods and Goddesses. this is their point of view however, people practiced stones considering as their god later on with the time. They have given a shape and size to the stones and considered as them their god.

During the period of Rig Veda, people worshiped the nature and various forces like fire, water, earth, air etc and they did not worship any idols and there were no temples as well like the present day. People offered prayers and sacrifices in order to please their Gods and the items offered were milk, grain, ghee, flesh and soma.
