Why some people demands separation? Why some states want to be independent or separate? If we analyze the reasons, we find that political aspirations of some leaders are involved behind such demands. The masses must realize the fact that in India, no one is governed by some alien power. There is nothing like Kashmir is ruled by India or Nagaland is ruled by India. When we say India, Kashmir & Nagaland are also included in it. The central government has representatives from all the states. And the fact is that we are ruling ourselves. We have to make the masses understood that separation is not going to help the common man in anyway. Only their leaders will be ministers and earn wealth. Secessionism is nothing but a business played with the blood of the common people as the capital. Empowered by some anti-national power, the separatist leaders are always creating false propaganda and misleading the common people. It’s the time to educate the masses and wipe out the concept of separatism from their minds. Then only we can envision a united India for an endless era. Post your Views
I guess one thing to note is that it happens in Kashnmir Nagaland, but why not in Mumbai or Bengluru, I guess because there the peolple are well educated busy in their good work they dont involve in such stupid stuffs, I believe that we need to educate people and inculcate the feeling of one nationhood. We will have to understand that when this country gets united for Indian cricket than why not for its welfare, are we the people of India so unaware so stupid that any political party or leader can use us
Political gains only. Nothing for the good of the common men. Bingo! Look at ULFA. When ULFA was created, their main aim was(as ULFA stated) to check the illegal influx of Bangladeshis into Assam(Which happened before, during and after the 1971 War and creation of Bangladesh). Their second demand was to free Assam from Indian rule i.e independence of Assam. How is it possible that a terrorist group has flourished for 3 decades? I do not believe there was no political patronage given to them by successive Governments of Assam(Both AGP & Congress) or maybe even the GoI. As ULFA's creation was for political gains, so would be the destruction of ULFA, which we will witness shortly. Also worth mentioning is that, when ULFA was created it was supported blindly by the Assamese people, but not quite right now. People have finally woken up from the hazy ULFA dream. Right again! However, we do have things like Dalits, Brahmins, SCs'(Scheduled Castes), STs P&H(Scheduled Tribes - Plains & Hills), OBCs(Other Backward Classes) and we have Bengalis, we have Marathis etc. What we do not have is the feeling of Indianness because our constitution does not give us that. This decades old laws of our Constitution should go, if we are to progress as a Nation. When our Constitution itself divides people on the basis of their birth, sex, caste and creed - people would take advantage. Maywati, Laloo, the Thakerays they are all doing this. Also there are rules in some parts of India - which states that, if you are born outside place X, then you cannot buy a piece of land in place X. Also, you can vote but cannot stand as a candidate in local elections. There's such rubbish in our laws, that I'm losing my mind right now. Yep, for example Madhu Koda. Right! But to counter this we have intelligence agencies like R&AW, IB. What the hell are they doing? I mean look at Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, do we hear people living in POK shouting "We Want Freedom"? No, we do not. Then why people like Mehbooba Mufti and people alike her are thriving? It's because of flawed policies of the GoI which still uses Intelligence Agencies as a Govt. Tool instead of a Strategic one like the ISI. According to 2001 Census: Net literacy rate in Jammu and Kashmir is 54.46% Net literacy rate in Nagaland is 67.11% much much better than many other states in mainland India. While I do not refute your post, I'm amazed USA or UK do not face such problems. The answer is because they have strong laws and independent intelligence agencies to take care of that. The moment a secessionist raises its head, it is crushed. Was that a solution? Bottom-line is education alone cannot make or break India. Government policies can. You are free to debate!!!
I think the awareness among people regarding their basic responsibility for the sake of their country is somewhat lacking. There need to be taken certain measures so that people can be knowledgeable enough and the feeling of patriotism can be increased.
Because, Kashmir and Nagaland are sharing their borders with some enemy nations who are always trying to separate some territories from India. Foreign powers are creating false propaganda amongst the masses. It's also easier for them to offer support to the bordering states. that's why they target them first. it's not only a matter of education.
Is there universal agreement that the Indian Constitution is so flawed? If we agree that the constitution needs urgent change, is it then not true that the governments of India have been too conservative for a long time? When I say conservative I mean unwilling to change something fundamental. I think that all citizens should have equal rights to begin with, to vote and to own property anywhere in the country. Such a law would be the beginning of great improvement, I cannot understand why it did not happen a long time ago.
Fantastic post. I agree, we do have tamils, kanadiga, keralites, marathis, north indians, south indians, but not "Indians". ordinary people, does not want any seccession from our country, only politicians are creating all these trouble, the politicians are dividing us...our education system should change. before cricket united our country, now for that is also in danger in the form of IPL, everybody now started to support the respective cities.....
Stop asking for your own little needs and think above them all. Asking for separation is the biggest reason for division and if it happens then that day will not be far when you will all have to face struggle and fights between us. People ask for the formation of different states is the biggest reason for division. If this can be stop then we can all be stand firmly against the enemy. It has been a long history that Geographic division not only bifurcates land mass but also instills feeling of animosity and unhealthy competition in minds of people and they should understand that short term gains always lead towards long term losses.
There are many ways to unite india as one can go through several issues that are not at all suitable such as the problem of separation which keeps on coming now and then. The best way to unite india is by keeping the nation same as it is and by propagating the agendas and rallies based on unity in diversity. Division of states will only give rise to the division of the nation.
i think we are already a united nation, however in any demanding circumstances, we should bring out issues at a national level. we should address issues as a India rather than some regional, in such a case, whole India would support the cause. education and advertisements via media is another means via which we can put on integrity values which would make everyone feel as an indian.

The issues of wanting a separate nation by many North-Eastern States and Kashmir is a long persisting issue. The reason behind it is discrimination that the people of North-East India faces as well as the negligence faced by these nations from the Government. Lack of proper education is another reason for such issues cropping up as the people who wants separation do not understand the consequences that they might have to face. The nation can be united by addressing the issues of discrimination, negligence and by promoting equality among every Indian.
After Independence, many states wanted to separate from India. Punjab, Kashmir, Assam and other North-eastern State. However, our Constitution unites and binds the whole Nation. It is important that people should become aware of the consequence that they have to face as a new and separate nation. Moreover, the nation can be united by treating every individual of every state as Indian. Nationalism is the sole way to unite India.
I agree with you that Nationalism is the only way to unite the whole nation. The feeling of nationalism needs to be awaken in every individual and every child needs to be taught bout nationalism. Nationalism is where nation comes first and rest everything else comes after nation. This can be the only means of uniting the vast nation which has some many diversities.
