Patriotism is the love, affection and concern for the nation and for one’s motherland. It is the compassion of an individual for the welfare and well being of one’s country. Such feelings are very pure and valuable and that is also a fact that such feelings have to be input in an individual right from an early age so that they just grow older with time with more compassion. Parents play an important role in the building of the personality of their child. And it is not surprising that the parents can play a better role in inculcating affection and regards in the heart of the child for his/her motherland. This all depends upon the parents to encourage the child to become active and supportive in the welfare of the nation and its developmental process. Blessed are the children who get such a parent who teach them to become a patriotic individual and blessed also are the parents whose children fully imbibe their teachings and do something constructive for the country. It depends on the parents how do they ignite the lamp of passion and determination in the child to become serviceable for the nation? There might be many ways through which the parents can inspire the children to serve the nation but what matters above all; is that how do the parents try to connect theirs and children’s services and actions with the well being of the nation and how do they materialize their patriotic intentions in the path of development of the same. It is easy for the parents to tell to their children that they should love their country but it is quite complex or I would say it would require a practical implication to actually bring that verbal love in a virtual form. Parents should clearly explain their children that they have certain duties and responsibilities towards the motherland, as they have other duties in different aspects of life. Once the parents are able to describe these duties being an Indian the love for the nation would automatically be emerged. What is important for the parents and the children is to at least realize our duties towards the motherland rest will follow naturally.
