I was reading the headlines in The Times of India this morning. And the front page top story was about something called iridium mixed in the gold that is sold across the country.

The first thing that crossed my mind was why did it become the front page story? Was it because big brands like Tanishq, Sangini or the likes want to eliminate small players from the market?

Can we trust everything that we read in a newspaper of see on news channels?

We have had multiple terrorist attacks in the country. Was was 26/11 bigger than all others? Was it because industry heavy weights were in the line of fire this time? And they flexed their muscles on the media?

    Again we can only speculate.

But in today's world a reader needs to keep his mind open. And u need to read more than two newspapers daily to keep yourself up to date on various issues without a bias.

Too much to ask on a working day. Isn't? But than the truth is not a like a thread on an old tapestry, that u pull a thread and it unspools and falls at your feet. You have to look for it in ways more than one at times.

Whats your take on the issue?

    Media Dilemma

Truth is that all TV channels are busy improving their TRP by hook or by crook, responsibility of a news channel is to provide user with knowledge of happenings and let the user make his own opinion, our News channels have already forgotten professional ethics and acting like Judge by themselves, feeding us with prejudice.

Doing a great job on social issues

Indian media is working in different sectors. They are providing national and international news and events. They are working hard on the social issues like the negative effects of tobacco, cigarettes. The Indian media exposed different social nuisances. People can watch the news twenty four hours and seven days. They are working seriously in their own respective area.

    indian media's reliability

India media at times is seen to behave biased in certain instances. Not all the news shown by the Indian media is reliable. There are definitely some manipulations with the story line that actually lies beneath. Media should act responsibly and put the actual truth before the public. Sometimes media even manipulate stories to bag more TRP which is uncalled for.

The media of India in today’s scenario is more running after TRP rating and money, rather than real NEWS. Today there are dedicated media channels for news, which are backed by many political parties and other celebrities and they use this media power to carve a path for themselves. Mostly the news that is flashed is backed for gaining publicity. Therefore the media of today work more in creating publicity stunts and entertainment, rather than fighting for real issues of nation or common man. Even if they have some real issues in their pocket they use it more in favor of increasing their TRP than actually helping the needy.

after knowing some harsh facts about the indian media it becomes hard to believe what indian media shows us. with so many scams and politics behind these channels it has all become a mere game of business to show news. there is no ethics in indian media towards the people of its country. its an urge to media to act responsibly and regain its credibility.

Indian media at times stumbles upon showing things which are not the right .. they may do it for TRP or may have some internal links but the reality is that such things do happen often. but i must say most of the news is the right way, its only some of the sensitive news that is manipulated for pure benefits.

Media houses and the people both are equally responsible for the irresponsibility of the media who are running behind TRP's. Media houses are busy in making money and they show only that part which audience wants to see. They are hardly bother about the poor people's pain and government deeds they simply want to see some entertainment based programs to relax them. So it is the problem of media and teh people as well who are not talking media seriously.

We have tired of talking about the media and its responsibilities and how serious we take indian media. There is no doubt that indian media cooks her share of meal by showing some sensuous stories and also divert the mind of people and change their opinion. but what exactly they are doing and how serious we take indian media? Are we not at fault ? We are the only ones whoa re interested in watching All Rakhi Sawant show and other sensual programs that are telecasted on indian mews channels. if we would have been not interested in this then there is no point of these media person showing all that.. We need to change our taste and become more responsible then juggling up on the useless news every time.

There’s no much need of taking this media seriously
I agree with you, today’s media are really misleading. The fall to increase TRP ratings and lost their sense of service.
Seriously the news we watch as breaking news on Monday won’t be able to watch the extension on Tuesday. Another breaking news heads on Tuesday and the news of Monday is lost in history

most of the news can be relied upon because not everything is manipulated by the media. however media does some manipulations in some sensitive issues to gain TRP and making the news sound as a big one. all this is done for personal gains and there is no responsibility whatsoever in the minds of media people.

Indian media has turned into money making business and most of new the provide are of least importance. They are mostly sponsored by big corporate houses and they make silly news as headlines.Nevertheless, they do provide news that are reliable but most of the news are biased and by creating irrelevant headlines they try to increase the TRP and this is because of the increasing competition in the media world.
