Marriage is and important element in the Indian society and is considered as a sacred thing. The societal norms makes it important for a women to get married as well as stay married. Getting married is important for Indian women because it provides life time security and staying married is equally important because Indian society is still conservative and look down upon a women who got divorced or is abandoned by her husband. In my view this should not be the reason for getting married and staying married. One should marry only when she finds her perfect life partner and then staying married becomes possible. It doe not make any sense for a women to stay married for the sake of the society even if her husband victimize her with domestic violence. What do you think?
