Do you guys know about any book or website that thoroughly explains the Indian democracy and its workings? For example, how the voting system works, who we vote for, the role of PM and President, Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, Panchayats, Central/State government roles, etc. In short, I would like to re-read my 'Civics' class now. I would really appreciate if you could point me to good resources on Indian civics and its democratic system. Thanks!
Hope this helps: Constitution of India: English - Government: National Portal of India Let me know if it does not serve your purpose

i don't quite familiar with your democracy work, dose it makes high efficiency? i doubt about that. you know ,we Chinese have a communist party dictatorship, but those 20 years ,who have made a great progress. so ,do not boost that you are the largest country with democracy regime in the world , it is no use!!
How does Indian Democracy work? India is a democratic country. The people in India have different Fundamental Rights and duties as it is mentioned in the Constitution of India. People have all right and power to select the members of the Parliament. Indians enjoy more freedom than many other Dictatorship countries of the world. Here the people enjoy the political freedom. Judicial freedom and many other different types of freedoms and rights are enjoyed by the people.
The most complex political system The Indian party system is the most complex one. This is further supported by the huge number of parties that we have. Each year newer parties get registered. Politicians separate from the main parties to form sister parties of their own. Thus it is evident that understanding the whole political system of India will be a bit of task. But when you are regularly exposed to the system it gradually soaks into you.
In my opinion, every Indian should about the working of Indian democracy. Indian democracy is complex as compared to other democracies of the World. Indian Constitution governs the democracy and is considered as the Supreme law of the land. Our democracy provides the people with several rights and duties and the basic essence of democracy that is rule by the people is still maintained.
