India had faced lot of religious violence, which many believed to be organized program for eliminating minority communities. Major such attacks involve Bombay Riots, Ayodha debate, Gujarat violence 2002. Hindutva, a political-ideology had been one driving force for such attacks, some secular Hindus used term "Hindu Taliban" to signify Hindutva supporters.
The term Hindutva was first conceived in the late 19th century by Hindu nationalists in India. It is a way of life which is not controlled by any particular set of believes or ideologies. The Honb'le Supreme Court in one of its judgements ruled that " Hindutva is only a culture and cannot be compared to prevalent Hindu fundamentalism". Any Indian from any religion is a Hindu if he or she considers India as a holy land. No religious belief can stop anyone from following Hindutva.
The meaning of the term `Hindutva’ is often misconstrued by politicians and Fundamentalist. Hindutva is not associated with any particular religion. It is a way of life. Hindutva represents a way of life which is not governed by any definite set of rules.Its a way of life or a state of mind that is based on the cultural and spiritual ethos based on the spiritual systems that evolved from India. According to me Hindutva is the best way of Living life.
