Our politicians ,media and business houses have got together and are busy in campaign to show dreams and rosy pictures to Indians that India is developing very fast, India is almost to become super power and India was never shining as it is now.The truth is different. We are giving too much stress to manufacturing and services sector or shall we say, corporate sector. Not even the small businesses. We have been neglecting agriculture and even looking down on this work creating very bad conditions for farmers in terms of land availability, finance, irrigation management, high quality indigenously developed seeds, farm mechanization and distribution and logistics network which can save 35% of vegetables and fruit that rot and go waste.Farm and labor productivity and quality are major concerns of Indian agriculture. Major part of price is sucked up by brokers and agents.Potatoes and Onion selling at 8-10 rs even today is simply disgusting and cause of concern.Montek says monsoon will bring relief.Does onion and potato depend on this coming Monsoon? Nothing substantial has been done by this Congress lead UPA government and earlier by NDA.Indian Politicians have now acquired the same color .All are MNC struck and Western glamor struck. It is all 'green backs'. honey. Aping USA lifestyle is number 1 priority of ManMohan Singh and his government.Shining n cars, special jets, huge perks and salaries and tours.Life was never so good for politicians and bureaucrats.Hail liberalization slogan! They are now really liberalized from accountability and guilt.Reckless taxation is imposed and money asted in luxuries, salaries and badly managed schemes likie NAREGA.Our economics style id of British.First make and keep people poor and Hungary .Then call them backward.Throw some reservations and subsidies. And keep ruling. We don't want to empower the masses.Huge chunk of money is being wasted on fancy infrastructural projects. See how Indian rupee is gaining for last 4 months continuously against dollar. But the rupee in domestic market is loosing value rapidly due to huge price rise which is unprecedented in Indian history. It never happened in famine days also. ManMohan says world is in grip of melt down and recession whatever it means, but in India inflation is consistently above 15% per annum in general commodities and 30-35% in real estate.Loot continues. Is this the way to manage country and then be called experts? Some people , less than 2% who have benefited from Manmohanomics react adversely when he and his cabinet is criticized. The western influenced and controlled media no more talks against anti people climate.Media is not at all serious in exposing price rise and its causes. Our exporters including Wipro and Infosys can't quote in rupees and ask Americans to convert in their currency. They have no such power and call themselves top hi-tech companies in world. No Indian exporter has guts to quote in rupees. So when dollar goes down it pinches domestic industry engaged in exports. But it should help imports.India is net importer then why we are shouting? Why ManMohan singh Ji and his government is making noise? Is it under influence of exporters lobby ? or some other secrets are hidden from us? I have never heard of any agri zone being planned by this government like industrial corridors and special Economic Zones. I have never heard of developing wasteland for suitable agriculture. I never heard of Agri corridors. We brag that India is second largest producer of Rice forgetting that we are also second largest populous country of world too.So what is great about it? India has to focus more on quality of non electronic life and agriculture. India has to settle issues with neighbors boldly and sincerely. It is proving very expensive. Per capital consumption of almost everything is fraction of that in western countries. If with 120 crores population Indians start consuming like Americans, India will become a super garbage dump and not super power.WE have three times population and 1/3rd of area. This fact is forgotten by our so called experts and economists. We are being fed daily 'growth rate' figures which mean nothing. We are being blinded by sharp light of promises, dreams and 2020 and 2050 visions dreaming to take over USA,China and so on as if they will all sit idle in next 10 to 30 years and look at India growing helplessly. They are bunch of fools. It is time this mockery and slogan of globalization and liberalization are revisited, India plans from ground zero, fixes norms and ratios for various economic indices for example cost of a residential flat to per capital income,it wants to target looking at our systems, population and resources and aim at moderate manageable growth rate of 5-6% per Annum of which 50% should be from agriculture. All well meaning and intellectuals should think over various issues raised above and question Indian Politicians and demand accountability or else move over. Almost 40% of Indian GDP is sucked up by bureaucrats of India , Indian politicians and contractors in a vicious nexus of loot and plunder going on in country What a country we are!
Is there still hope? You put it in the best words possible. People sat and dreamt of India as a superpower in 2020, a few years ago. [I used to hate it when they gave "India in 2020" as an essay topic ] Now this year has been changed to 2050. While they dream, other countries like China are growing fast, economically and militarily. India is being left behind. China's economy was in the same state as that of India's in the 1970s. But now, we see the difference. It makes me wonder... is there any hope at all, for India?
The real progress While there has been celebration about the fact that the Indian market is taking rapid strides towards being developed, the truth lies elsewhere. The core sectors have been ignored which include agriculture and small industries. India is encouraging more and more FDI but someday it may have no other option but to rely on it since it squeezing out Indian potential big time.
One side the Indian economists are claiming that Indian currency is hitting international market, but on the other side we are seeing that the value of rupee is falling in our very own market. Thanks to our hard working politician, bureaucrats, media and famous personalities; whose joint effort has surely made Swiss bank rich and left most of the Indian population still strive under the poverty line. The economic charts are showing rise, but for most of the Indians, it is difficult to comprehend the same after looking at the real picture of India, where farmer are committing suicide, common man is toiling to make ends meet and unemployment still has claws on us.
it is ironically funny that Indian population is suffering from poverty and the politicians are freely enjoying and looting crores of Indian rupees which belong to the innocent common Man of India. The rich are becoming richer by their unethical looting and corruption in India and the poor are becoming poorer by paying taxes. the whole system has to be changed as everything is flawed from bureaucrats to the Indian politicians and even the Indian media.
it is sarcastically funny that Indian economy is such. people who are of middle class and below that class are the sufferers in this economy. though the economy claims a high rise in the net and gross percentages, there are more and more price rise and common man is being put at stake for all this by the indian government.
yeah, this is pretty much ironic that though we have a very strong economy in terms of GDP, our poor people lye in a state of despair. there is wide financial inequality existing between the poor and the rich in india. gov mus try to save the poor of india as soon as possible otherwise it would be highly unfair and unjust on their part to be left alone in that state.
It is true that though we brag of such a great growth rate in indian economy we forget the growth of population too! The so called economists of our country are incompetent to calculate the statistics taking all the factors into consideration which is another reason why we are still in the dark, unaware of factualities. The economists should make revised list of priorities to make our economy even and stable.
Think a lot but no step is taken to cope with the desired results. This is indeed the funny side of indian economy that the government dream about seeing indian economy on top of the charts but hardly taking any steps to make it a reality. Everyone is saying india will be a super power by 2020. But how far is it true? We are still fighting with corruption and poverty in india and hence it is just a myth to say like that.
