Election Commission has recently appointed election expenditure observers who would monitor the limits of expenditure on a particular activity associated with the elections. I'm not sure if they are of any good or if they really help in curbing malpractices during the elections. Could anyone throw in some light to it please? Are there any cases where these election expenditure observers have actually stopped political parties from making any excess expenditures?
