English, August: An Indian Story by Upamanyu Chatterjee is a work of genius by the author. The book is humorous, irronical and well written as well as well presented. The book is based on the story of a young Indian civil servant whose thoughts are subjugated by women literature and soft drugs. As the novel opens he has been posted to the small local town of Madna. A nice book by the author and I recommend it to all the book lovers.
