Elections 2012 in four Indian States

    Hi,
    The most awaited elections for 2012 is about to begin at the end of January. The five prominent states that is to experience the upcoming elections are Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur, Punjab and Goa.

    States to have Single Phase Elections:
    Manipur - January 28
    Goa - March 3
    Punjab - January 30
    Uttarakhand - January 30
    While Uttar Pradesh will be having seven phases of polling - From February 4 to February 28

    Election Results for all the states are to be announced on the same day March 4, 2012.

    Well the results of these single phase elections haven't been overwhelming. The voters who turned out were quite low in number. Moreover the UP state got samajwadi party back which is famous for its hooliganism. Though Akhilesh yadav promised to root out any such member who commits hooliganism/vandalism, there were cases of violence by the party members right after the results of elections. Please share your views on this.
