The road to success and a bright future for India is not so easy! Because the ones who are supposed to create this road are themselves, mislead and becoming addictive of unhealthy practices. Drinking alcohol has been one of the popular trends/culture that has emerged among the Indian youth in the last couple of years. On the one hand, the youth promises to take up the responsibility to build up a strong nation and on the other hand they are themselves sinking their future in the darkest front of alcoholism. In the last ten years there are numerous of teenagers aged 15-19 years getting prone to drinking alcohol more frequently. Late night parties, hanging out with friends and chilling out by drinking alcohol has become the latest ‘cool-culture’ among the Indian youth. The metro cities like, Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai are the top cities where the youngsters are found to be highly involved in drinking alcohol habits. Hostlers, young girls, students of top most public and convent schools are greatly influenced by this cool culture because they think that drinking habits can fetch them the ‘cool-dude’ and ‘modern’ tags. Basically the prime reason behind getting habitual of drinking habits is that the Indian youth recognizes the western patterns as the best and feel that following the western culture would conceive them as advanced, modernized and sophisticated. The youth is indeed fascinated by the fanciful sides of alcoholism and simply ignoring the arduous effects of the same. The youth initiates drinking alcohol for the sake of fun but they themselves do not realize that when does it become an addiction for them. The results of alcoholism have been very harmful for the youth. The youth must decide now that whether they still want to be carried away with the habit of drinking alcohol and want to be drowned in darkness or genuinely want to practice what they preach.
