In our Indian phenomena long hair are usually associated with the cultural traditions according to which Indian women are better supposed to possess long hair in order to give regard to their Indian culture. In Indian culture women are considered to look more beautiful and graceful with long hair and in fact having shorter hair is not considered to be a pleasing trend in our society. Women/girls with long hair are always admired where as girls with shorter hair are supposed to be freaky, careless and non-traditional. Having shorter hair is directly being connected with the lesser inculcation of values and traditions within the women. It is believed that the girls who have longer hair are firmly grounded in traditional values and they rather willingly obey the cultural values whereas the girls who prefer to have shorter hair are believed to be little rebellious and unconventional who at a level refuse to follow the traditional values of our culture. But the question arises over here that does having longer hair truly signify the values' inculcation in individual or for the matter in women particularly? In my opinion values and traditional values are nowhere be signified with the way of keeping the hair (longer/shorter). A girl with shorter hair might be purely conventional and candid at heart or a girl with longer hair might be a rebellion and who simply refuses to obey and follow the traditional patterns. It is a matter of one's way of thinking and mentality. Values are imbibed with sincerity and purity in mind and heart and it has nothing to do with the length of one's hair. Having longer or shorter hair especially among the girls is just a matter of choice that no where proves ones vitality and belief in values and culture of the society. Girls should be free to have any kind of hairstyle they want to keep and they should never be judged in terms of the hair they do keep. It is the interest and truthfulness that matters while imbibing and following the values and not the long hair at all!
