Most of us get the feeling of being proud to be indian only during the independence day. This is because, all over the media one can find telecast only on Independence Day and about the heroes of that era. And throughout rest of the year, one doesn't bother about those heroes or the history of our independence. Do you think we have become more selfish and show our patriotic feelings only when everyone does?
I strongly believe in this statement that independence day and any other day like republic day, gandhi jayanti or anything related to freedom reminds us the feeling of patriotism for only that day as we all have become a hell lot of busy in our lives and we wish or see those days as a simple day that comes in our lives.
Independence day is a celebration of our freedom but that does not mean that we dont feel the great sacrifice that our ancestors have done for us.Independence Day definitely makes us patriotic but it directly doesnot mean that we forget what had been done for us.Due to the materiaslitic busy world, people dont get the time to express there feeling of patriotism but when the Indian's get a chance they dont leave that chance.
time has changed and so has the people.People have become much more materialistic then earlier. In the process of profit they forget the fact that they are a part of the independent India and dont realise the significance of it,but shows there complete patriotism on the 15th August.
It is quite sad but people today feel proud to be an Indian only on the Independence Day or Republic Day. Perhaps because of the busy schedule of people today, they do not get the time to express their patriotic feeling and expresses it only on special occasions like Independence Day or Republic Day. However, it is very much true that Indians express their love for the nation whenever they get a chance.
Independence day marks the day when India won its freedom against British rule. It is a day that definitely makes every Indian proud and the feeling of patriotism is awaken which remains dormant otherwise and modernization being the reason for it. Nevertheless, an India never misses a chance to exhibit the feeling of patriotism and nationalism and Independence day and the other such days makes every Indian Proud as it reminds us of the struggle and sacrifice our ancestors made to make India free nation.
I don't think that Independence day solely reminds us of feeling proud to be Indian. I am always and will always be proud to be an Indian. It is a nation that has given so much to its people and this makes me feel lucky to be born in such a great nation that hosts so many diversities yet it is united. Independence day is the day when we celebrate our freedom but I think every citizen is proud to be an India irrespective of any special day.
