Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit was right when she ruled out any immediate plan to ban the auto rickshaws in the road of Delhi. It’s a fact that the public transportation in Delhi is pathetic. Traveling by public buses in Delhi is just like a physical and mental torture. The ministers are not paying any attention to it as they never travel by buses. They people who generally raise voices for the people also don’t travel by buses. So this basic problem of Delhi never comes to the limelight. For lakhs of people, who cannot afford to buy individual cars and don’t like to use public transport because of pathetic conditions, the auto rickshaws are the best alternative. Banning auto rickshaws will make the lives of these people measurable. Of course, Delhi Metro is there. But it cannot reach everywhere.Auto rickshaws contributes a lot to Delhi's transportation needs. Auto rickshaws must be there for commuting from Metro stations to the destinations. Instead of banning the auto rickshaws, the government must have to take steps to make the auto rickshaws, more affordable for the people.Politicians of India doing nothing for Indians they are just doing politics , Politics and Only Politics.God please save India !

An auto rickshaws costs only a little bit more than Rs. 1 lakh. But a person needs to pay approximately Rs. 5 lakhs to buy and get the necessary permits and approval. So, ultimately who suffers?-- The common people of India. They need to pay more than the reasonable rate as fares. If government stops overcharging from the owners of auto rickshaws for necessary permits, people will get the best alternative to public transport.Instead of doing something for the welfare of poor Auto Drivers.

Delhi government is thinking of phasing out autos from the roads of Delhi. I have read somewhere that Indian Government is thinking of introducing Electric cars and electric Motorcycles too.The main reason behind introducing electric cars is to reduce Air pollution and high cost of fuel.I hope it will bring a major change in public transport and Indian public transportation services. Now we have to see when will government introduce electric cars.According to me we have to wait long because of laziness of Indian politicians in doing something for the betterment of the country.

banning auto rickshaws will definitely bring havoc to the people in the city. people commuting via auto rickshaws will have to face lots of problems. people use auto rickshaws for shorter and longer distances. even the auto rickshaw drivers will lose their livelihood. they will become jobless. already poor people are suffering from poverty and taking such steps will further aggravate situtation

commuting done by the middle class people is mostly using auto rickshaws and so banning them would cause troubles in the capital. i don't know what could be the reason behind this but there are no other means of transportation left behind for them because traveling by buses cause lots of problems.
