Women themselves set the example for the other women in the society. The women who belong to the old generation have already been working and living their lives as per the criteria set by the patriarchal society for them. And this is what they transfer to their younger generations. What they have been believing, seeing, and acting they expect their young girls and ladies to follow and to do the same. But if it continues like this then how would the change take place? It will only remain in the minds but cannot be brought into the reality. The young girls and ladies are catered with preconceived notions and attitudes, given by the older/elder women of the families and relatives. A girl should do like this, a daughter-in-law should do like that, girls are supposed to sit/walk/talk like this, there is a long list of Dos' and Don'ts for the younger generation however the older women have always admitted that they also followed those things under the pressure of the family and the society. So if that is so, then why are they transferring their burden, fear and issues to their younger girls and ladies? Why can't they set them free? It is a matter to change the belief system within the circle and then only it could be expected from the outside surroundings. If women would continue to suppress and pressurize the other ladies/girls of the family then they can neither blame the society to behave indifferently towards the whole women section nor they can expect any change from the same.
