India is a large country and boosts of a democratic system which happens to be the largest in the world, and I might as well add, Indian political system is one of the most corrupted political systems as well. At the very outset it is important to mention that, not all, in India political system are swindlers or evil minded there are politicians who look to run the country in an honest and truthful manner. But, we are dealing with a vast majority who join Indian politics with a prime agenda to earn money the wrong way. Prima facie it has been observed that major portion of our India political class is under going a legal procedure. The total number of Indian politician charged with criminal cases is mind boggling. Due to our slow and inept Indian judicial system the cases remain pending and the person charged with crime go scot free, without even a hair being touched. Since we live in a democracy in India, no person is a criminal until proven guilty. They are “social bandits” who look to rob people’s wealth and assets and we must look to change the present scenario in order to save the nation from these “social bandits”.

A change in Indian judicial rule is needed, cases against corrupt Indian politicians should be heard before all other cases, and like in normal case should be treated separately, followed by a quick and prompt verdict. This move can help in many ways, as it will induce many corrupt ones to resign. Today we see people joining politics of India to make sure the criminal cases against them get dropped or not proceeded with. These are social malcontent and must be dealt with strictly. It is also incumbent up on us to choose the right person as our representative, so always go for the good candidate and vote out the evil. It’s time to rise to the occasion and get counted.

How to get criminals out of Indian politics ?

    criminalization of Indian politics

Criminals in India have spread their roots in politics. These criminals loot the Indian people of their wealth by making fake promises. There are even politicians with criminal backgrounds. Such people should not even be allowed to stand in elections. And if any politician is found to indulge in criminal activity he should be ransacked without any mercy.

    Criminals in India Politics

Politics is not a mode of earning money or using power to in an incorrect way to get the wrong work done. Being in politics means to serve your nation and its people, but some where this agenda is fading as many criminals have permeated through the walls of politics and have used the power and money to fill up their bank accounts and desires. Indian Politics is losing its charm and glory because criminal minds easily participate by being a part of this system and creative and educated minds set back, thinking that Indian politics is not a clean business. To stop and defeat these criminal from entering into politics of India, the young, educated Indians will have to shed off their fear and take a wide leap into the world of politics. So take the risk and serve your nation as this is our true identity.

    I second that Surya :)

I believe that if wise, intellectual and educated people take up politics not as an occupation but as their duty to help the less privileged part of the society, democracy can come out in its true colors.
also, its important to have a patriotic heart, before entering the pool of politics.

We all should do something to stop the criminalization of Indian Politics.

stop criminalization of Indian politics , bar criminals from contest: CEC

Election Commission of India wants the Indian government and Parliament to "revisit" the issue of criminalization of Indian politics and take urgent steps to bar candidates facing serious criminal charges of murder, rape and extortion from contesting elections.

Election Commission of India also favors disqualification of incumbent Members of parliament and Members of legislative assembly on conviction in criminal cases involving serious charges.

Worried that criminalization of Indian politics or politicization of criminals is an ill plaguing the Indian electoral system increasingly, the Election Commission of India says the issue needs to be revisited to enhance the faith of Indians in Indian democracy and to improve the quality of elections in India.

"I would like to reiterate that such temporary debarment will be in the larger public interest," Chief Election Commissioner S Y Quraishi told a news agency in a wide-ranging interview.

It covered issues ranging from electoral reforms in India to mushrooming growth of Indian political parties to independent functioning of the Commission.

Criminals has association with political parties or rather they are used as supporters by politician many a time. Corruption, bribery and such while collar criminals are plenty in indian politics.

I think firstly the Indian election commission should come up with of set of rules that does not qualify a person with criminal record to stand in election. Secondly the candidate should be checked for his/her behavior amongst people, the person should be patriotic not just famous because of richness. Thirdly there should be some elite force which should be independent from the reach of ruling government which can sew these criminal politicians.

Indian politics are full of criminals and we are the ones to blamed for such a situation. Most of the criminals join politics and keep doing crimes under the cover. However, to stop criminals to join politics, there should be minimum qualification for people to join politics and there should be a proper background check of the people who want to join politics and by doing this perhaps we can stop criminalization of Indian politics.
